Albert Adrià opens Enigma, restaurant in the wake of the Bulli
The premises occupy 700 m2 on the ground floor of a building. The door only opens with a code that the guests receive with the confirmation of the reservation. And there begins what, at first, looks like a maze of glass, metal meshes, resins. All in a range of gray tones, including the ceiling, in a space that has been designed by the Catalan architects RCR.
Whoever penetrates Enigma will travel for two and a half hours for different gastronomic spaces in a more than carefully arranged, with a certain Japanese air even in the uniforms. The bar is one of the stops with a unique cocktail bar. Diners will pass through the kitchen to reach another of the spaces: a large teppanyaki iron around which will sit a maximum of six people who see step by step the preparation of the dishes. The next stop is the closest to a normal dining room with tables and chairs. Again the surprise is the snacks.
Art & Design Girona has made all the interior furniture (tables, chairs, stools, etc.) and some accessories (trays, cubiters, etc.) with innovative materials designed by RCR Arquitectes, Pritzker 2017 Prize.
